First a washable sub-micron Porcelain Ceramic pre-filter prevents clogging of the cartridge and thereby extends its effective life. Large bottles and multi-packs heavy and inconvenient to carry No disinfecting agent (Chlorine) to prevent bacteria build-up during storage, which is usually months or years.
